LAPD May Have Erred in Ellen Dog Case

16. Another thing they should consider is jurisdiction of the Pasadena animal control officers. The ACOs came from Pasadena. They only have legal jurisdiction in Pasadena. The hairstylist did not live in Pasadena. The ACOs who went there to scan the chip had no jurisdiction to do so, unless the hair stylist knew this and just allowed them to go into her home and scan the dog.

That dog had an AVID microchip in it. Generally when you adopt you get the AVID certificate and form. You are instructed to fill it out and send it in with $15 to AVID so they can update the registration. Did Ellen forget?or did Marina not give her the chip paperwork?

There is no other reason a retail store PAWS BOUTIQUE IN PASADENA that must be boycottedd and go out of business, would use their rescue charity free tax status ... and not do their homework and they did not ... MUTTS AND MOMS WERE UNETHICAL AND LIED FROM INCEPTION WHEN THEY TOOK ELLEN'S $600. AND NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH ON HER PAPERWORK, NOR DID THEY TRANSFER TO ELLEN, THE MICROCHIP IN HER NAME LIKE THEY PROMISED.

TO POST 16 THAT IS OBVIOUSLY SLANTED AND MAY BE PART OF THOSE CRAPPY MOMS WHO STOLE THAT PUP FROM THE LOVING FAMILY. RECOGNIZE THIS IS NOT A GOOD RESCUE GROUP BUT PEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING BIG DOLLARS ON A DOG RESELLING IT OVER AND OVER TO OTHER PEOPLE.

BOYCOTT PAWS BOUTIQUE AND ALL THE STORES NEAR THEM. THEY HATE ELLEN, WELL WE WANT TO SEE THE KIND OF MUTTS AND MOM'S OUT OF BUSINESS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY .. LET THIS BE THE FIRST OF OUR CRUSADE. They say they don't like the Ellen Degeneres'es of the world.. well WE DON'T LIKE THE MUTTS AND MOMS OF THE WORLD AND THERE ARE MORE OF US TO HATE THEM.

19. The dog is legally Ellen's, if the witch wanted it back she should have gone through the court system. She actually kidnapped that dog and should be charged, kidnapping a dog is a serious offense, so Ellen fight the bitch and get Iggy back!!!!!!!!!! 20. Ellen signed a contract (similar to one my adoptive homes sign), they have been used for years. They are legal. Ellen took it upon herself to pass the dog on and it should have been returned to the rescue agency. Period.

The cops are generally too stupid to make decisions like this anyway.

The courts can settle this matter once and for all.
And it's not like they don't have anything better to then argue about a dog that doesn't give or know a rats ass where it is as long as it gets fed 3 times a day.

22. I have been rescuing dogs with well respected rescues for 15 years and this is an absolutely DESPICABLE way for a rescue to behave. The nasty woman that physically took the dog away has her priorities so screwed up that it is doing irreparable damage to ALL rescues, especially hers. Now people are going to have less trust and respect for rescues.

What an idiot woman, to destroy the relationship by a warm, well loved, animal loving celebrity like Ellen. She has really cut off her own nose to spite her face by handling this so poorly. If she had quietly told Ellen that they needed to fill out some extra forms, do checks ... whatever... for the hairdresser's family to keep the dog and expedited it, the rescue could have counted on more donations and support from Ellen, which is ESSENTIAL for rescues.

I hope this doesn't go away for the rescue, until they give the dog back. If I lived near there, I would [loudly] make sure it didn't go away. (Hint, hint to any animal loving readers near the rescue!)

25. The answer to all of this is to get all parties before a judge and let the judge decide what should happen. I can't believe that the hairdresser allowed the mutts and moms people onto the property and stood there arguing with them. The cops should have been instructed that everybody was standing on private property, the dog in question was the hairdressers property, the mutts and moms were tresspassers and they were leaving. Period. If you don't know your rights and do not press them adequately, you deserve what you get. That being said, I hope that the people who are in close proximity to the mutts and moms store will harrass them out of existence. If you must, burn it down.

28. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) have some of the most ignorant officers in this nation. LAPD used to be respected. Within the past fifteen years, their agenda for diversity has caused it to go downhill. This is a matter that should have been decided before a court's jurist. Not by a police officer.

This situation reminds me of another problem in Los Angeles County: Illegal landlords.
There is a rampant problem with unscrupulous guys posting on craigslist.com - renting an apartment or house and then subletting the bedrooms, the living room couch, and even the garage as illegal living space because there is a lack of affordable housing in Los Angeles County. They demand outrageous prices as high as $1,800.00/month from their victims. Often they also demand sexual favors in addition to rent payment. Rape is also committed against the sub-renter. Many of the sub-renters are female college students because they are struggling with part-time jobs in addition to their school studies - they haven't established credit yet to get into their own apartment. There are many stories being circulated that when the LAPD is called - the illegal landlord is usually favored by the LAPD officers because he/she is named on the lease; the sub-tenant is told that he/she is a trespasser and ordered out into the street immediately. (Comparative to the way the dog may have been illegally removed from the possession of the young girls to whom Ellen gifted her dog named Iggy.) The LAPD officer makes that judgment call, not the court. Not even the California Department of Fair Housing.

That Mutts & Moms organization needs to be thoroughly investigated by the city and state authorities because many citizens are complaining that there is grounds for suspicion. Marina's tearful meltdown over how her health is being affected is feigned. Return Iggy to the girls. Shame on LAPD.

30. 16. You ADOPT children. You BUY a dog. Ellen PAID for the dog, she puts another $3,000 into the dog to have it fixed and trained and because the people didn’t change a chip inside the dog showing transfer of ownership (why do I find that funny) it’s STILL not her dog?

There should be some kind of contract law that overrides this so-called contract. It probably isn't worth the paper that it’s written on. That’s the problem with these animal fanatics. They think more of animals then they do of people.

And what’s with the “non-profit” status, since she also runs a pet store. Somebody ought to look into that.
