151. I love it! They keep Delta for Hoarding and let Brittney go! ROFLMAO

152. It's very easy to sit back and make fun of people especically when it comes to mental health. Delta has been open about her personal fight with her longtime battle of depression for years. She isnt jumping on any "Brittney band wagon". She is dealing with her own life the way she should be. You all need to educate yourself about mental health. Until you, yourself have dealt with it you need to keep your nasty hateful remarks to yourselves. The stigma that the media attaches to mental health is horrendous, no wonder people that need to get help with mental health problems avoid it. Who wants to have people say the horrible things about them that you all are saying about her. Statistically the number of people dealing with mental health issues show that in one way or another that someone in your family is having mental health problems. Think about whether or not you would like to have people talk about your family member in the manner that you are talking about Delta.

153. Delta has had mental issues for years, she just chose not to divulge her whole life to the world. I believe she's been medicated for this for a while and checked into a ward some years ago. Hoarding is a mental illness in which you can't throw anything out. You think you need to keep it, you have a compulsion to keep it and it usually is treated with medication, but like with any drug it doesn't help forever, so no doubt she has to have her meds adjusted. I remember now, she was in the hospital around 10 yrs ago for a life long struggle with depression that got worse after a weight gain. Hey TMZ, you should give me a job as a fact checker, maybe you'd get more stories right like this one. I wish Delta all the best, she recognized a problem and got help for it, and even more than that, she brought into the light a mental illness few are familiar with. Good job, Delta, stay strong, get healthy, we're rooting for you.

154. In all my years working on inpatient psych units, I've never seen anyone admitted purely for hoarding. Hoarding, just like other symptoms of OCD, comes from abnormal brain chemistry and needs to be treated with medication and behavioral therapy. But inpatient hospitalization is really only for taking care of people who are dangerous to selves or others, or "gravely disabled."

Maybe they have special places pseudo hospitals where celebrities can check in if they feel like it, arent taking a bed from a person who really needs it, and want to pay the bill out of pocket. With publicists on staff...?

155. My heart goes out to Delta! God is Our Judge! So many stones have been thrown.....So many glass houses.....When another person, on earth, no matter what religion, is ill or with problem....Why, In God's Name, would another person whant to step on them while they are down...rich or poor...we are all still human! What has happened to this world? Where is the Passion and Love for your neighbor? When we are up, it seems we are with many "Friends" But when we are down...Where are those (so called friends)????? After reading all of the above responses to her problem...well, I have begun to clean out my 12x24 shed full of my Seven Childrens "STUFF" of which I've had for over 40 yrs....I'm embarressed to say: I, too, must begin to unload my "treasures".....It's a very sad time for me...but it's the way it is! May God be With You......Rosie O'....Hernando, Fl.

156. Everyone wants a little attention.

157. I am appalled at all the judgmental and cruel comments made here. Mental illness is no joke nor is it something that should be ridiculed. Miss Burke is trying to get help as are most of the others. This should be admired, not belittled. One would hope that all of you have no one close who is suffering and fighting for a life that is not impacted by mental illness in any form because your unkindness has surely been felt by them. And pray that you never have one of these illnesses. The majority of mental illness is caused by some kind of chemical imbalance and not a flaw in a person. You should be ashamed.

158. Response to:

"2. What is "whoreing"????

Posted at 11:32AM on Feb 6th 2008 by Sick of It All"

"whoreing" as in "whore" (or as the younger generation calls them "ho"), also known as "prostitute" or selling oneself in some way, shape or form for (personal/financial) gain.

161. I'm crazy as a bedbug myself. In fact I'm not supposed to even be on this computer. And it's really tough trying to type while wearing a straightjacket.

No truer words were ever spoken. You get hit with this disease when you least expect it. It's just like any other illness., part of your anatomy isn't working right.

163. Get well soon Delta and thanks for not being afraid to enlighten us. How many of us out here have mental health issues? There is NO shame going to the psyche ward. The shame is on the public for making one feel that way.

Now, I know Im being a little cynical here, but I think I smell a book and a movie .... am I right?

Who wanted want to see a movie or read a book about a former beauty queen, turned actress, has mental issues, gets health issues, marries one of our favorite actors, has some hoarding issues and then ... GETS WELL??? I cant wait.

I think Delta is top notch all the way. She is sweet., beautiful, kind, caring, gentle, and doesnt make the news too often with sleazy stuff like other stars.

164. It took a lot of courage for Delta to come out and tell the world about her problems with depression. Hopefully her admission will help many others who are battling with this illness. Delta is a lot stronger than she thinks she is. YOU GO GIRL!

165. After viewing a portion of the interview with Delta and reviewing some of the comments that have been posted (quite illuminating in assessing the lack in understanding of mental disorders), when the day is done though, it took great courage for Delta to recoognize she needed help and to walk the path towards getting it. She should be not only applauded and supported for the substantial internal strength she clearly possesses, but also for the courage to publicly be pro-active in educating the public as she is doing. Depressive conditions as in many other mental health conditions are not a fad of the rich and famous, nor gender specific nor related to indulgences as I noticed was inferred in one posted comment. These are very real life-limiting disabling conditions that can affect anyone at any time. It's not a joke and it's no different than a diabetic who needs insulin, or a quadraplegic whose wheelchair serves as "legs".

To Delta: you GO, girl. Press on and forward in making a difference in a very good way. Speaking as a brain injury survivor of 23 years as of yesterday...more life-limiting than the "condition" in and of itself is the pervasive misunderstanding and ignorance of challenges that are really only "different" than someone else's when the day is done. May others find the courage within themselves to follow your exemplary example of courage and not be afraid to search for the right kind of help for their respective situation.
