T-1000 Terminates Bats in the Cave
In the future, machines will be able to pick our noses for us.
Until that day, humans like Robert Patrick will have to dig for gold all on their own.

Legendary winemaker Robert Mondavi went to the great cellar in the sky today at the age of 94.
Mondavi, who Wine Spectator calls "one of the most influential and admired winemakers in California history," founded the winery that bore his name in Napa Valley in 1966. He sold it in 2004. This isn't Boone's Farm, kids.
He died in his home in Yountville, CA.

It may have seemed like a mission impossible for Tom Cruise, but he has gone and done the unthinkable: packed on the pounds.
Ever since nabbing the woman of his dreams (and mother of his child), Cruise has definitely let himself go. While his bride-to-be goes from pregnant to slender (almost unbelievably so) in preparation for their upcoming nuptials, Cruise might want to make sure Giorgio Armani does last-minute fittings of that tux, just in case.
Indeed, Cruise and Holmes have favored Mastro's and Wolfgang Puck's CUT steakhouses for their well-photographed supper jaunts, and as their respective menus suggest , this is hardly low-cal cuisine.
All play and no work make Tom, apparently, a fat boy.

Hybrid cars are all the rage in Hollywood. Celebrities drive them like they're a badge of honor. You save a few gallons of gas, you save the planet. Right? Well, not when you hop on a private jet and burn enough fuel to propel NASCAR through 2050.
Of course, the stars need to go here and there. The location shoots, the fabulous vacations, etc. But that's why God created United Airlines. G-IV's, on the other hand, were created in the image of precious celebs.
Julia Roberts
On the ground: Roberts drives a Prius, which gets (at best) 60 miles to the gallon, shaving 30 miles off a normal car's mpg.
In the air: Chicago/LA, 1,749 miles in a private jet, the route she took with Rupert Everett while shooting "My Best Friend's Wedding."
Gas guzzled: 2,100 gallons of jet fuel.
Prius Penance: Julia would have to drive 30,000 miles, or roughly once around the earth and then some to even out her consumption in the air.
So Julia says: No word yet from Julia's rep.
Jennifer Lopez
On the ground: J-Lo tools around in her 60 miles-per-gallon Prius.
In the air: LA /New York, 2,475 miles in a private jet. Lopez was actually sued by a private jet company for allegedly skipping out on the bill, though she says it's all a misunderstanding and she was not supposed to be billed.
Gas guzzled: 2,750 gallons of jet fuel.
Prius penance: She'd have to drive 45,000 miles, and that's a lot longer for Jenny than just going down the block. It's actually more like twice around the earth.
So Jennifer says: There was no comment from Lopez's rep.
George Clooney
On the ground: George favors a Tango, an electric car that gets a whopping 135 miles to the charge.
In the air: Los Angeles/Tokyo, 5500 miles in a private jet.
Gas guzzled: 7,000 gallons of jet fuel.
Electric shocker: Even with his super-saver Tango, he'll have to drive over 57 oceans -- Pacific Oceans to break even.
So George says: Clooney's rep, publicist Stan Rosenfield, tells TMZ, "You clearly have no understanding of certain people's need for private transport," and points out that Clooney often has "no control" over his travel schedule.

Rosie O'Donnell has decided to ditch AOL, and TMZ (which is part-owned by AOL) might just have something to do with it. In one of her most recent blog postings on rosie.com, the talk-show queen said that -- well, let's just let her say it in her inimitable haiku-ish way: "quitting aol/as my face appears/way 2 often/with a survey underneath."
We're not sure precisely what Ro is referring to with the surveys, but it is certainly true that we've run several items (well, four, to be exact, see below) with surveys -- or, as we refer to them here -- polls within. And AOL does run pictures of celebrities with polls embedded underneath.
To be fair, Rosie hasn't exactly come out on the sunny side of most of our polls, so it's understandable if she's not a huge fan. Regardless, we certainly wish Rosie luck with her Internet service provider needs -- and hope she'll continue to check herself out on TMZ.

The endless speculation over Nicole Richie's conspicuous lack of weight continues unabated. But if the photographic evidence is any indication, the "Simple Life"-er is, as she told the world last week, trying to do something about it, as she visited a clinic whose founding doctor specializes in dietary health.
Richie was spotted walking into the DeOrio Wellness Medical Center in Santa Monica on Friday, hoisting a massive white bag to her face to shield herself. The holistically-focused DeOrio clinic bills itself as a facility that helps patients "renew and unleash the inherent vitality found in each person and ... achieve the proper balance of mind, body, and spirit." Given this rather broad portfolio, Richie could've had an appointment for just about anything, and DeOrio staff were not available to confirm Richie's visit or the reason for it.
However, clinic founder Keith DeOrio, MD, is the author of 2000's "The New Millennium Diet Revolution," a book that suggests a variety of strategies to achieve better dietary health, including drinking a half-gallon of fruit juice every day. Another Los Angeles doctor tells TMZ that DeOrio is known for his expertise in helping patients with weight issues, whether on the over or under side of the equation.

Lindsay Lohan gives a raw and uncensored interview in the new issue of Elle magazine.
The tabloid princess, who has been linked to a rotating roster of young Hollywood men, reveals, "I don't want to put myself in a monogamous relationship right now. I'm not dating just one person." Hopefully this isn't news to Harry Morton.
The single starlet goes on to say, "...if the sex is bad, the relationship's not going anywhere."
One relationship that isn't going anywhere is her much-publicized feud with Paris Hilton. Lindsay insists that she hasn't seen the infamous Brandon Davis "firecrotch" tirade video featuring Paris and lashes out against the hotel heiress saying, "Obviously, she's very comfortable making videos, " an evident reference to a certain homemade X-rated Hilton film that made the rounds a few years back. Maybe you've heard of it?

Jessica Simpson is her own one woman cover band. And by the looks of her career, her breasts may be the only original thing about her.
One of Simpson's first singles was "I Think I'm in Love With You" which featured a sample of John Mellencamp's 1982 hit "Jack and Diane."
In 2004, the former "Newlyweds" star covered Berlin's Oscar winning song "Take My Breath Away" on a special edition of her album "In This Skin." That same album also featured a cover of Robbie Williams' song "Angels."
The following year Simpson recorded "These Boots Are Made For Walkin',"a cover of Nancy Sinatra's 60s hit, for the big screen remake of the TV series "Dukes of Hazzard." Sensing a pattern here?
Jessica's latest single "A Public Affair," although not a cover, sounds suspiciously similar to Madonna's 80s hit 'Holiday." Regarding the comparisons, Simpson said "It wasn't a sample or something I meant to do, but she did influence me and still does today." Apparently so, Jess, apparently so.
In an interview with MTV.com last week, Simpson revealed her next single may be -- you guessed it -- another cover.
While La Simpson believes her rendition of Dead or Alive's 80s hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" isn't a cover and maintains "it's a sample, really," she does say "it reminds me of that "Waiting for Tonight" Jennifer Lopez track that everyone embraced." Two covers, er samples, in one ... sweet!
And since three times the charm, Simpson's new album "A Public Affair," out Aug. 29, features one more cover.
Jessica credited Patty Griffin's "Let Him Fly" with helping her through her breakup from ex-husband Nick Lachey and recorded a rendition of it to close out her album.
Simpson says the song "is about how sometimes you just have to know when to let something go." If only she were talking about recording covers!
Despite her penchant for mimicry and by the sounds of her previous albums, the only thing less exciting than a Jessica Simpson cover -- is a Jessica Simpson original.

What would you expect to hear from Ashlee Simpson as she talks to Marie Claire magazine about the female figure?
How about? "Everyone is made differently, and that's what makes us beautiful and unique. I want girls to look in the mirror and feel confident."
Yeah, we didn't believe it either. But alas in the July issue of the women's magazine this is exactly what the pop tart professed.
It has been rumored that Simpson underwent a rhinoplasty operation -er, nose job- and has added long blonde hair extensions to her repertoire in the period of time between the cover interview and its publication.
After the interview was published, over 1,000 readers wrote to the magazine in protest. "The article ... was a joke, right?" a reader from Boston asked. "I realize you can't control what your cover models do after the interview and photo shoot, but still!" one reader from Denver wrote. "You couldn't have picked a worse role model!" fumed a reader from Toronto. Simpson has also been featured in dozens of blogs, being censured as a hypocrite.
The magazine's new editor, Joanne Coles, writes in the September issue, "She was quoting chapter and verse about how crucial it is to love yourself as you are, etc., We're dazed and confused -- and disappointed -- by her choice, too."

David Hasselhoff responded Thursday morning to his wife's charges of abuse while on CNN's "American Morning." Hasselhoff told Soledad O'Brien, "The only person who broke my wife's nose was a plastic surgeon, darling."
Hasselhoff appeared upset when O'Brien brought up the allegations while he was on the show to promote the new movie, "Click," starring Adam Sandler.
"That's not what I'm here to talk about," Hasselhoff said.
